His play style is characterized by big dynamics and impressive punchin particular.<\/p>\n<p>His abilities were put to the test on numerous albums by popular bands such as \u201cAxxis\u201d, \u201cRage\u201d, \u201cSilent Force\u201d, \u201cSinner\u201d\u00a0or \u201cBonfire\u201d, but even more so during live concerts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Andr\u00e9 Hilgers was born on 30th of August 1974 in Remscheid\/NRW. Aged 7 years, he was sitting behind a drum for the first time, concentrating on learning drums with 10. He joined \u201cNinja\u201d from Wuppertal in 1989 and recorded the \u201cLiberty\u201d longplayer. During that time he played about 40 shows with the band and recorded the album \u201cTwins?\u201d. He also featured on the Project of Michael Bormann and the \u201cSinner\u201d guitarist Alex Beyrodt. They signed with the label \u201cZYX\u201d right after and recorded their debut album \u201cChildren Of The Future\u201d, which was released in 1998. A four-week nation-wide tour as support for Metal Queen Doro Pesch and her band \u201cDoro\u201d followed.<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\n<\/div>\n<p>In the summer of 1999 \u201cThe Sygnet\u201d played a show at the world famous \u201cWacken Open Air\u201d and developed into \u201cSilent Force\u201d.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\"  id=\"row-1696656756\">\n\n\t<div id=\"col-1043311184\" class=\"col medium-5 small-12 large-5\"  >\n\t\t<div class=\"col-inner\"  >\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n<p>Together with the exceptional singer DC Cooper from Pittsburgh\/USA they released their first longplayer \u201cThe Empire of Future\u201d. Today this counts as a genre classic.<\/p>\n<p>From March 2002 onward Andr\u00e9 and \u201cSilent Force\u201d toured with the Brazilian band \u201cAngra\u201d in an extensive tour around Europe. A Germany tour followed in May as support for U.D.O. I met with him and Bernie. I was immediately enthusiastic about the boys. After all, I grew up with the Axxis discs back then.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As a quintet they recorded \u201cTime Machine\u201d, which hit the charts on rank 72.<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"is-divider divider clearfix\" style=\"max-width:0px;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"row\"  id=\"row-961458158\">\n\n\t<div id=\"col-1532407918\" class=\"col medium-5 small-12 large-5\"  >\n\t\t<div class=\"col-inner\"  >\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n<p>In the meantime he recorded the well-received project-album \u201cThe Raven Ride\u201d under the name of \u201cEmpire\u201d. He recorded together with scene authorities such as singer Tony Martin (ex-\u201cBlack Sabbath\u201d), bassist Neil Murray (ex-\u201cWhitesnake\u201d) and guitarist Rolf Munkes (\u201cRazorback). A Germany tour with \u201cGotthard\u201d and shows all over Europe together with \u201cHelloween\u201d followed as well as a double headliner tour with \u201cKrokus\u201d in May.<\/p>\n<p>In 2007 Andr\u00e9 became the new drummer for the German Power Metal band \u201cRage\u201d. His first performance test was a mini-tour together with the \u201cLingua Mortis Orchester\u201d through Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic in early 2007 as well as the \u2013 now legendary \u2013 appearance at the \u201cWacken Open Air\u201d festival.<\/p>\n<p>The fourth \u201cSilent Force\u201d album \u201cWalk The Earth\u201d was released in February of 2007, which had tremendous success in the Japanese charts, which lead to a successful tour in the land of the rising sun. He had left \u201cAxxis\u201d in the meantime.<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cGib Dich nicht auf\u201d was released in 2009 as a web single, after having participated in the Pro 7 TV-show \u201cTV Total\u201d with host Stefan Raab, and using said song in the \u201cBundesvision Song Contest\u201d. The band represented Northrhine-Westphalia and reaching a sensational third place.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRage\u201d released their new album \u201cStrings To A Web\u201d in early February 2010. The CD reached rank 27 in the charts and a 18 month tour around the globe followed.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\"  id=\"row-1628008162\">\n\n\t<div id=\"col-230988391\" class=\"col medium-5 small-12 large-5\"  >\n\t\t<div class=\"col-inner\"  >\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n<p>Andr\u00e9 joined \u201cSinner\u201d in early 2011 and in early September of the same year their album \u201cOne Bullet Left\u201d was published.<\/p>\n<p>Afterwards a successful tour through Germany took place.\u00a0Several festivals were also on the agenda.<\/p>\n<p>After Andr\u00e9 already played together with Alex Beyrodt before, it was obvious that they would rock decently at Sinner too. A press release dating to the 4th of February 2015 revealed that Victor Smolski and Andr\u00e9 Hilgers are retiring from \u201cRage\u201d due to \u201cmusical as well as personal differences\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Andr\u00e9 was the only one who never made a public statement about the split in the press. With plans for live shows in mind the bands album received very good and even outstanding reviews in print and online press alike, and is even regarded as one of the best traditional Metal albums of 2016.<\/p>\n<p>2017 follows a european tour with Herman Frank and some temporary concerts with his old band Axxis. And to make sure it doesn\u2019t get boring, Andr\u00e9 2018 establishes his Youtube channel with more interesting mini tutorials and produces more instructional videos for his shop.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\"  id=\"row-315522782\">\n\n\t<div id=\"col-103843115\" class=\"col medium-5 small-12 large-5\"  >\n\t\t<div class=\"col-inner\"  >\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n<p>And to make sure it doesn&#8217;t get boring, from 2016 Andr\u00e9 will establish his Youtube channel with more interesting mini tutorials and produce more instructional videos for his shop.<\/p>\n<p>The steadily increasing subscribers show that there is a market for quality teaching. Of course there will also be a tour.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019 Andr\u00e9 becomes the new drummer for the German Hard Rock veterans \u201cBONFIRE\u201d.\u00a0Hilgers was lucky in 1986 to experience the band on their first big hall tour as supporting act of ZZ TOP Live.
